Thirteen Things That Are Great About Me 1 . I am a hard worker and dedicated to my job. (Even though at times I hate it) 2 . I am a AWESOME Mom! (So what if my 15 year old daughter thinks I am uncool! I know she loves me anyway!!) 3 . Here's one from Snarky! "You rock capri pants as if they were made for you and you alone" (Thanks L!!) 4 . I have a magnificent smile, that lights up my whole face. (had some help on this one too. I mean 13 great things is a lot to find abut yourself!) 5 . My laugh fills the room. People love to hear me laugh, i guess it goes with the smile. :) 6 . I am a loyal friend and companion. It may not be easy to get close to me, but once you are, I am your friend til the end! 7 . I find it much easier to find the good in EVERYTHING, than to focus on the negative. 8 . (Another Helper outer!) You are, at heart, a caretaker who wants to be of service to others in some way 9 . I am much better at exercising than I am at dieting, I know how to play that strength to stay healthy! 10 . It is a darn good thing that I am good at #9 because I baked an apple pie this weekend that was the BOMB DIGGITY! 11 . I am willing to take a look at things that need to be changed in my life and do something about them. (not always so easy to look at yourself, to really look at yourself. You can't change on the outside, whats wrong on the inside...) 12 . I am real as rain... 13 . I love the simple things in life, no fancy shmancy stuff for this girl!!! Thirteen things in "general" 1…. Sunday dinner at my Moms,which is usually at my sisters. Spaghetti, slad and garlic bread. It was delicious , as always. 2. Sunday morning, I gave the dog a bath. Poor Kisses ( Kisses is the dogs name!) she just stood there petrified. Shaking and looking ever so sad! 3. Monday....Back to work! YUCK on my new shift, 10-7, which i can not figure out if i like or not. 4. Back to work also means back to the routine, which means exercise! 5. I have been extra good this week. I haven't eaten lunch out at all. I have packed all week!!! ( I am so proud!) Unlike my friend, I won't mention any names, Apple Bees twice this week!! 6. My daughter is starting her 2nd year of highschool! YIKES I am getting old!! 7. My daughter has been on about 5 vacations this summer. ( I am such a hata!) 8. Work has been crazy as all get out! I have left everyday this week feeling like I have gotten nothing accomplished. (Not a good feeling) 9. I did get to got tanning twice this week, that always relaxes me. 10. I would like to go on a nice vacation... If anyone knows of any really nice places, I sure could use a few suggestions. 11. Thank goodness the weather has cooled off a litte. Last week was just insane!! 12. I just want to say I thought it would be easy to think of thirteen "general" things...Not as easy as I thought! 13. I need rhyme and reason....

I am not one to watch/read the news often, as it depresses me as well as scares the heck out of me at times. The other day i i turned the news on early in the morning to watch the weather and heard this instead:

A body found wedged inside a chimney at a school in Lansdowne has been identified as that of a 19-year-old man who had been reported missing last week, police said Thursday.
Zachary Scott Miller's body was identified through fingerprints, a Baltimore County police spokesman said. The body was found Wednesday afternoon at Riverview Elementary School, a few blocks from Miller's home.




Miller was last seen alive July 26 after being warned not to tell police about being robbed, authorities have said. Police said Thursday that they were unsure how Miller got into the chimney and that homicide detectives are investigating the case as a suspicious death.

"There was no sign of injury or trauma," said Bill Toohey, a county police spokesman.

One suspect was arrested as a juvenile shortly after the robbery, and three men and a woman were charged in the robbery this week, Toohey said.

According to court and police records:

Miller was "hanging out" with acquaintances near his home in the 900 block of Winsap Court about 10:30 p.m. July 20 when he went to a bank machine to get money for fast food. After returning, he was assaulted, thrown against the side of a vehicle and robbed of $30 and a pocketknife.

Miller later told police that the robbers left in a sport utility vehicle, and that he called one of them through a "direct connect" number to ask for his property back.

At one point, a man with a voice that Miller did not recognize answered the call and said the assailants would do more harm to him if he "didn't let it go."



Another person told Miller that the others were capable of shooting him if he "rats them out."

Later, police arrested a 17-year-old and charged him as a juvenile in the robbery.

Arrested this week and charged with robbery, assault and theft were Antoine Manning, 21, of the 400 block of S. Stricker St. in Baltimore; Scott Snyder, 21, of the 100 block of S. Carrollton Ave. in Baltimore; and Dennis Eric Morris, 21, and Staci Michelle Emge, 26, both of the first block of Silerton Road in Lansdowne.

Miller was captured on video about 1:30 a.m. on the morning of July 26 at the Royal Farms store in the 4300 block of Hollins Ferry Road, Baltimore County police said. His family reported him missing the next day.

A maintenance crew at Riverview Elementary School that had noticed flies around the school's chimney for two days called police Wednesday after opening a door at the bottom of the chimney and seeing a body wedged inside, police said.

Miller's relatives were among the dozens of people who gathered at the school that night. The body was removed about 9 p.m. and taken to the state medical examiner's office.

Early Thursday afternoon, nobody answered the door at Miller's home. A few hours later, police said that the medical examiner's office had identified the body.

Additional tests will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of Miller's death, police said.

Now, I am a realist and i know that we live in a world full of crime and hate.
This story hit too close to home for me. My sister, brother in law, 3 nephews and 2 nieces live 3 blocks away from this school. My daughter and I visit there quite often. We knew this boy. We did not know him well, but we knew him.
That could have been my nieces or nephews, or perhaps my daughter.

My daughter (16) is on vacation right now. I didn't want to her to hear this on the news, so I had to call and talk to her about it. Her first words were "Mom?? The blonde haired Zach, that plays basketball with the boys?" (the boys are my nephews) and then she went on " But he is good guy, he doesn't do drugs or bother anybody"...etc

How in the world can I make her understand, when I don't even understand.
What is the world coming to? Where is the rhyme and reason?

Thirteen Things I did on Vacation

Missed a couple of weeks, I sure hope I can get back in the groove!! (Not that I had much of a groove!) Here we go!!!

We had planned a trip to Florida for vacation, but had some unexpected expenses arise..We were unable to go to Florida But had a good time just the same!

1... Ok..First things first. When on vacation we all know the diet is out the window!!! When on vacation I eat all of the JUNK that I want!!

2... With the junk food comes NO EXERCISE!!

3... I have to say that one of the best things i did on vacation was spend time with my family. That includes, my Daughter, Mother, Sister, Brother in Law, 3 Nephews and 2 Nieces.

4... We laid by the pool, got a very, very dark tan!!

5... Went to visit my Aunt and Uncle. Cooked out. (all the good food!!)

6... Oh and of course... how could i forget the most important thing about being on vacation... NO WORK!!!! WOO HOO

7... Had to do a "home" day for the cable guy to come.

8... Roller Skating... i am willing to bet that roller skating fits into the exercise category, but it was fun anyway!

9... Wanted to go to an amusement park that week...but it was soooooo hot. I will wait until the weather breaks for that!

10... Shopping. Vacation is the perfect excuse to spend money that you would not normally spend on yourself.

11... My daughter, nieces, Mom and I had a slumber party. That was pretty fun, played games, told stories, ate ice cream...ya know, slumber party stuff!!

12... Somehow though vacation always confuses me, i always think I am going to relax. NEVER HAPPENS!!!

13... The Sunday before the end of vacation, My Aunt and Uncle had a party. It was pretty cool. Christmas in July...and we all got presents! YAY!!!

Thirteen Favorite Foods

This will be good... Hard to pick 13 out of all of those foods out there!! 1. I would have to say that my very very favorite is Lasagana... i love the pasta sauce and cheese. 2. I am definitely hooked on ice cream samiches....WOW.. i eat them everyday. NO good for my diet OR my girlish figure!!! 3. This is a funny one.. I know everyone will laugh at this, I love fishsticks...one of my favorite foods. (Silly Huh? What grown up loves fishsticks?) 4. MMMMM.....There is a returant close to my house called Lista's they have this thing there called a Chicken Fajita Burrito... (OMG....it is delicious) 5. Moving on... Next on the list Cashew nuts, I loves me some darn cashew nuts! 6. Hmmm....Extra Butter microwave popcorn... Again...EXTRA BUTTER!!! 7. Hot dogs....mmmmm with baked beans, potatoe salad...huh... i just did 3 in 1. 8. Of course i can't have hot dogs on the list without having hamburgers close behind... I guess it is pretty safe to say any cook out food... I'm in on that!!! 9. Oh boy.... Five Guys Burgers... Big difference between a hamburger and a FIVE GUYS BURGER...BIG..HUGE difference. 10. My fast food fav...Chik Fila Chicken Samich... I am not sure what is in those things..but i am hooked on the chik fil a's. 11. I love this chinese food from the spot by my house...Triple Delight, hold all veggies but the broccoli. AWESOME!!! 12. My Moms meatloaf is OFF THE HOOK, my favorite thing that she makes!! 13.
